Grants are available for charities throughout the UK for projects that protect important heritage sites, preserve, and protect choral and organ traditions, and address disparities in access to medical treatment and awareness.

The Hamish Ogston Foundation is offering grants starting from £1.5 million for charities throughout the United Kingdom to deliver heritage, music, and sustainable health projects that have measurable social outcomes and make a long-lasting difference.

Funding will support projects and activities that focus on the following funding areas:

  • Heritage – Protecting the heritage of important sites across the UK and preserving structures, their craftsmanship, and their traditions.
  • Music – Promoting the UK’s choral and organ traditions, including related initiatives and apprenticeships, to preserve their knowledge and culture.
  • Health – Working towards eliminating the disparities in both access to medical treatment and health awareness amongst the most disadvantaged sections of society.

Funding will be awarded to projects that align with the Foundation’s guiding strategy:

  • Maximise the benefit – Provide a commercially-minded input to ensure that no money is wasted.

Blackpool Local Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP) is hosting a creative cultural event in the Winter Gardens to inspire the creatives career opportunities and pathways in Blackpool. They want to excite and inspire young people in Blackpool to get on board with creativity and the arts. The LCEP would like to invite you to be a part of the event.

The event is aimed at primary school year 5 & 6 right up to 6th form students. The aim is to show the younger children how their journey can develop. There will be work on display from some of the schools attending and the 6th form students will be showcasing acts/artwork/creative mind and skill set work.

The LCEP would like a selection of creative job roles on display and thought some practicing artists around the area would be ideal. You will be required to set up a stall with a display of what you do and who you are? You may want to include an interactive element. Whether that is yourself working, a video or something that the students could get involved in.

Anything interactive I would keep to around 15min slots as the children will want to move on to other stall.

The day will currently run from 12- 5pm. There is funding for the event and your time. This can be discussed further with Laura Goodinson.

Objectives

  • engage students with the culture of Blackpool
  • promote the arts and an array of careers available
  • show a wider set of transferrable skills arts offer

12 – 5pm, Tuesday 11th October (arrive from 9am to set up).
