Junction Four Productions returns to The Lowther Pavilion Theatre this month with the Fylde Coast premiere of the multi-award-winning musical Come From Away. Following three standout seasons, the creative team now set their sights on an up-close staging of this remarkable true story, told with heart, humour and unforgettable music that you can dance to even after the show ends.
7,000 Stranded Passengers. One Small Town. A Remarkable True Story.
Winner of four Olivier Awards, including Best New Musical, and a Tony Award for Best Direction, the smash-hit show Come From Away tells the incredible true story of 7,000 air passengers from all over the world who were unexpectedly grounded in Newfoundland in the wake of the 9/11 tragedy – and the small town of Gander and their residents, who welcomed them with open hearts.
A Uniquely Junction Four Experience
Blackpool’s own Junction Four Productions has fast become known for its innovative approach to amateur theatre. Working with industry professionals to guide and create reimagined performances of known theatrical productions, its past three seasons have seen Into The Woods, Young Frankenstein and Return To The Forbidden Planet presented for local audiences.
The team designs and realises its sets, props and costume plots in-house, stepping away from the traditional ‘copy and paste’ method of amateur dramatic companies to produce new and exciting theatre for audiences.
Directed by Mykey J Young, Come From Away is set to meet those same high standards, with Junction Four’s team of volunteers working tirelessly to create an original stage design that brings you closer to the action and gives audiences a real sense of being right in the room with the story. Alongside the traditional tiered seating, a limited number of stage-side seats will be available for each performance, offering a one-of-a-kind, up-close-and-personal perspective of the show.
“What makes this production really special is the incredible work happening behind the scenes,” says Mykey. “I have been working with Junction Four on the stage designs and they are creating a completely bespoke set for the show, and every element of it is being built by their dedicated team of volunteers. That community spirit sits right at the heart of Come From Away, so it feels incredibly fitting that our own community is helping bring this story to life on stage.”
The production plays straight through with no interval, keeping the momentum and emotion building all the way to the final moment. And when the cast take their final bows, the experience will continue with a traditional Newfoundland Screech-In. Audiences will be invited to follow the band into the bar and join the cast for a lively post-show gathering and a high-spirited celebration to round off the night, hosted by the musicians and performers they’ve just seen on stage, all included in the ticket price.
A true celebration of hope, humanity and unity, Come From Away is packed with soaring folk-rock music, quick-fire storytelling and unforgettable characters – as strangers become neighbours, and kindness becomes a lifeline.
Come From Away opens on Wednesday 25th March 2026 at Lowther Pavilion, Lytham, and runs nightly until Saturday 29th March with a 2.30pm matinee on the Saturday. Tickets start at £22.00 and can be purchased in person from The Lowther Pavilion box office, over the phone on 01253 794 221 or online.
