An intensive, in-person course with a limited number of spaces available; participants should commit to attending each week as far as possible.
Back for its 10th year, this popular and well tested course will develop your understanding of how to create a play for the stage. Using resources developed by professional playwrights and producing theatres, each week there will be practical exercises for you to explore a different building block of writing powerful and engaging stories for the theatre.
Over the period of 11-weeks, your skills, knowledge and confidence will all improve and for those who want, we’ll aim to work with actors to share your writing with an invited audience in the new year.
All sessions are facilitated by Melanie Whitehead who has worked in theatre for over 20-years including for the RSC, National Theatre, Roald Dahl Estate and Hay-on-Wye Festival.
