Celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the opening night of the world-famous Wigan Casino All-Nighters run alongside this year’s Soul Festival. With Soulful Dance in the Olympia, 60s Soul, Mod & Ska in the Pavilion, Contemporary Luxury Modern Soul in the Dereham Lounge, Connoisseurs Crossover and Rare Groove in the Old Vic. The Opera House will be open for a filmed documentary premiere (Wigan Casino – The Legacy) and a Q+A with a Wigan Casino DJ launching his autobiography at the event. Added to all that will be the Wigan Casino and Mr/M’s sessions in the Empress Ballroom and the Spanish Hall respectively.

    Antonia Charlesworth Stack is a journalist and editor from Blackpool. She was deputy editor of Big Issue North magazine and is editor of Blackpool Social Club. Antonia is also the founder of Reclaim Blackpool, a women's safety campaign that began life as an article she wrote for Blackpool Social Club. She's a contributing author to the Lancashire Stories anthology with her story about a Blackpool performer, The Call of The Sea. The book is available for free in libraries across the county.

‘I photograph comedians!’ is an exhibition at Showtown which celebrates British photographer Andy Hollingworth. His incredible photographs of some of Britain’s most iconic comedians feature in Showtown’s first major exhibition.

Andy has a unique connection with his subjects and has captured legends like Rowan Atkinson and Victoria Wood. He is the go-to photographer for many modern favourites like Rosie Jones and Romesh Ranganathan. This exhibition celebrates the people that make Britain laugh!

Tickets: Free but there is charge* to visit the rest of the museum.
