AFRA (Blackpool African Caribbean Friends and Relations Association) and artist Tina Ramos Ekongo host a workshop teaching you how to paint portraits of women of the diaspora for Blackpool African Caribbean Community Archive.

Tine will guide participants of any level of experience through the process of painting a portrait on cardboard or acrylic paper. From the sketching of the facial features with the correct proportions, to painting a portrait on cardboard taking into account the different lights and skin tones, you’ll paint portraits of women from the diaspora community as well as those who have visited or performed in Blackpool over the years such as Lena Horne, Winifred Atwell and Adelaide Hall.

You can bring along your own photos or images for inspiration too!
