If you’re looking for something to do on the Fylde Coast this week you won’t be disappointed. There’s everything from a new photography exhibition in Lytham to the annual Blue Room Cider Festival and a Halloween themed poetry event hosted by the Dead Good Poets.
Monday
B Side Rock on Globe Gig Radio brings you a selection of rock music that doesn’t get the airplay is deserves from 9-11pm.
Tuesday
Linda Hoey’s latest exhibition of photo art opens at the Lytham Heritage Centre on Tuesday. In this exhibition Linda has been photographing local landmarks and nature and combining them with images of man-made textures. The centre is open from 10am to 4pm every day except Monday and the exhibition will run until the 11th November 2012.
Blackout Gothic Radio Show on Impact Radio from 7-10pm.
Wednesday
Fact of the week – on the 24th October 2003 Concorde made it’s last commercial flight.
Blackpool Coastal Sky Ride is a 3 hour cycle ride from Blackpool to Fleetwood. Cyclists leave the Cenotaph at 6.30pm. Book online to reserve a place. Recommended for age 16+.
Thursday
Ramp City is holding a Halloween Skate with optional fancy dress and competitions for skaters.
The Blue Room Annual Cider Festival kicks off on Thursday night with a selection of over 50 different ciders from across the world. There will also be live music on offer from The Corsairs, Bill Orrick and Alpha State of Mind from 8pm onwards. Entry is £2 per night or £5 for the whole weekend.
Friday
Blackpool Dead Good Poets’ Society hold their monthly Open Mic Poetry Event at No 5 Cafe in Cedar Square, Blackpool, on Friday evening with their theme “Ghostly Goings-On” from 6pm.
Boneyard Zombies Halloween night at The Steamer in Fleetwood from 7.30pm.
Ska Light are live at Gillespies on Friday night from 8pm.
Happy Daize play live at The Fairhaven in Lytham from 9pm.
Ska Face are live at The Tank in Fleetwood from 9pm.
The Blue Room Annual Cider Festival with live music from The Hot Red Chilli Peppers from 10pm.
Saturday
Taiji Ball Seminar – Seminar focusing on posture, alignment, movement, balance and flexibility, rotations and co ordination. Runs from 3-5pm at Congregation Church Hall in Marton and tickets are £12 per person.
The Blue Room Annual Cider Festival with live music from Ska Face and Dinosaurs Are Shit Dragons from 7pm.
Heartstoppers 2012 returns for it’s annual halloween fundraiser at Coastriders Biker Cafe. Doors open from 7.30pm and entertainment will be on offer throughout the evening with live music from Gatorville, plus a fancy dress competition, raffle and DJ. Tickets are £4 if bought in advance or £5 on the day. The money raised goes to The British Heart Foundation.
The Belle Vue are holding The Heat Halloween on Saturday from 9pm onwards.
Sunday
The Blue Room Annual Cider Festival with live music from Tofu Fighters and Inner Temple from 8.30pm.
