They’ve won the highest praise from the likes of DJ Steve Lamacq, funnyman Paddy McGuinness and even The Guardian newspaper, but the Lancashire Hotpots aren’t going to let it go to their heads.
Instead of resting on their laurels, the boys are out on the road again with their Summertime Special tour. And on Friday, June 6, they’ll be stopping off at the Grand Theatre with a show that promises a reet tasty recipe of folk music, fun and irrepressible comedic songs.
Since first taking to the stage in 2007, The Lancashire Hotpots have become the go to band for those wanting a light-hearted view on life from a distinctly Northern angle. With rousing anthems such as He’s Turned Emo, The Baking Song and I Fear Ikea; the Hotpots have become something of a cult spectacle, touring the country with their own brilliant brand of parody songs and celebrating the culture of the North West while playing Glastonbury Festival, touring with Paddy McGuinness, writing jingles for Holland’s Pies, recording live studio sessions at BBC 6Music for avid Hotpots fan Steve Lamacq and having real ales named after them.
With their brand new Summertime Special tour the fabulous, flat-capped, five piece will once again be entertaining the nation with their cheeky songs about chippy teas, shop mobility scooters, smuggling your own sweets into the cinema and having a great time in the North.
There are congas, puppets and pirates on the menu at each and every Hotpots gig. Join Bernard, Bob, Kenny, Billy and Dickie at the Grand on Friday 6 June for a rambunctious riot of good time and singalong fun.
Tickets are £15.50. Call the box office on (01253) 290190 or visit the website to book.
