Family photoshoot
Claire Griffiths is a photographer with a background in Fine Art. You may have seen her work in many altBlackpool articles or promotional materials for Blackpool. She has covered many local events such as Showzam, Alfresco and the Illuminations switch-on, but also does magazine articles, weddings and personal shoots. She is very passionate about her work and particularly enjoys children’s sessions, as they capture those special, fleeting moments which are so incredibly transient in childhood.
Her shoots showcase a wide range of eclectic and interesting locations, as catching people while they are comfortable can lead to some beautifully unstaged images which can encapsulate the character of a subject. The shoots can be done over a few locations so your pictures have a narrative flow and they are not over processed, so as to retain the true essence of your loved ones. The sessions are about an hour long and vouchers are available to purchase from just £35 for 10 images, £60 for 40 images and £80 for 60 images plus an album. Claire is willing to travel as far as Manchester for interesting shoot locations. For more information, contact [email protected]
Tattoo session vouchers
You may have already heard of local tattoo studio The Tat Cave as they have a solid reputation for being one of the best in the area. Established 10 years ago by Ross Seed, The Tat Cave has long been illustrating the denizens of Blackpool to a high standard. Ross himself particularly enjoys cover-up work, “Fixing things,” as he said with a wry smile.
A lot of his pieces specialise in stark, striking black and grey bio-organic or angelic/demonic imagery. Whatever your personal tastes, his skills cannot be denied. He and his apprentice Danielle Merricks both have Fine Arts degrees and both are incredibly dedicated to creating the best art work they can, tailored to each individual’s personality and body. Danielle has been tattooing for just two years and has already evolved a signature style of her own, a “painty-watercolour” technique and she specialises in Portraiture pieces, which are her favourite to create. As they are so bespoke, each tattoo is priced on an individual basis but vouchers are available in any denomination. Contact either Ross or Danielle at [email protected]
Impact activity vouchers
Are you and yours the type that love outdoor pursuits and action-packed activities? Then Impact Blackpool is definitely the right choice for you. Vouchers are available for a variety of capers such as paintballing, archery, laser-tag or even shooting on an air rifle range. Prices for all start at £15 per person per hour and promise to exhaust even the most rambunctious of your family members. Check out their website at www.impactblackpool.co.uk or contact Callum McDonald on 01253 767279 for further information.
Charity donation
If there is someone in your life who really does have everything, why not consider making a donation to a Blackpool-based charity, Working for the Children of Watamu? You could make life brighter for a child at the growing family of the Happy House children’s home. Every penny raised goes towards the upkeep of, currently, 87 orphaned, abandoned, neglected or abused children that live there. To find out how to sponsor, get in touch at [email protected].
