Christmas in Blackpool

Well, the festive season is now upon us and in the run up to Christmas altblackpool is set to continue bringing you the best of Blackpool’s creative scene.

Over the past few months we’ve been out and about finding the best that Blackpool has to offer and since we launched back in July we’ve published over 100 articles.  From urban art exhibitions to interviews with local bands, artists, dancers and the latest theatre performances. We are keen to hear what you think we should be covering so we can continue to discover the best of Blackpool. We’ve produce a short reader survey to find out your views on altblackpool and to find out the direction you think we should be heading, it’s only four questions long so it will only take two minutes. December is Christmas Gifts month here on altblackpool and we’ll be bringing you a series of articles highlighting some great ideas for locally sourced Christmas gifts. Blu kicked off the monthly theme with Aunty Social’s Retro Coasters on Saturday, at just £3 each or £10 for a set of four these are “an ideal gift for the geek-about-the-office” – plus you could win a set of your own if you like altblackpool on Facebook. Make sure you keep your eyes on altblackpool for more Christmas Gift competitions over the coming weeks and your chance to bag yourself a locally produced gift.

Blackpool is getting into the festive spirit with a host of upcoming events including Caffe Dolce’s Christmas Exhibition, Handmade on the High Street, The Blue Room’s 7th Very Messy Christmas, The Christmas Tree Ball and the return of Cowbell Social on Boxing Day.  It’s sure to be a bumper December. As always, altblackpool will be on hand to bring you the latest and greatest of December 2012.

Towards the end of the month altblackpool will be taking a look back over the past 12 months. We’ll be bringing you a series of feature articles written by our volunteer writer team giving you their highlights of Blackpool’s creative scene in 2012. We’d love to hear from you if you’d like to write about what was top of your list in Blackpool over the past year so get in touch through our become a contributor page to find out more.

Here’s to a very merry Christmas in Blackpool!
