On Saturday 6 December, I attended Edit’s Christmas Party at The Copacabana, previously Schofields. Edit and The Editlife brand is the creation of Andy Senior a DJ of over 25 years who has played in the UK and internationally with the likes of Sasha, Laurent Garnier, John Morales & Groove Assassin. Andy, originally from Blackpool is one of the orginal Warehouse party DJ’s and has played at venues such as Monroes, Manhatten Heights, Park Hall and on the Baleric Isle of Ibiza to name a few. On Saturday night he was joined by Blonde Flash, Bon, Oli Frances, Bon, Glenn Meehan, and Bandy.
The label itself was launched in November 2011 and has accumulated considerable presence on all the major download sites and airplay on local, national and internet radio stations over the 12 month period as well as regular reviews in digital music magazines. Edit’s strategy utilises break-through artists and looks to assist and promote their music through Editlife events and creating awareness to attract appeal and develop a wider audience.
In December 2011 we saw Edit Records’ Launch Party in Blackpool, featuring Groove Assassin and live PA from Triggerfunk, featuring Mike Parry. Their launch party last December was a tremendous success and attracted a lively following to Bar 137 (sadly, now closed). Edit’s nights are Dance and House and their vibe is soulful and funky – they attract a solid following of regulars and supporters; the general atmosphere is friendly and fun. The new venue is accomodating with a excellent sound system and a large dance floor for breaking out your moves. The team at Edit are keen attract further guests to their nights and are looking forward to organising further sessions for House music fans. They are keen to hear from further acts who may want representation.
Get in touch with the man himself on Facebook.
