Preview: A Very Messy Christmas 7

2012-12-12 20.48.41[1]It’s that time of the year again, when Blackpool’s finest musicians forget how talented they are for one night and play some of the worst songs ever written. Thank god it’s them instead of you as they are the ones who have been trapped in rooms for the past two months learning Christmas pop songs. Each band gets a three song set list consisting of at least one Christmas cover.

The Messy Christmas veterans are returning: Dinosaurs Are Shit Dragons, The Senton Bombs, Escape Artist, Kraul, The Colours, Laura Catlow and Uncle Paul as well as some newcomers: Fighting, The Maddisons and The Orchid Family. This year also sees the return of Ramonastone, not seen since A Very Messy Christmas 2.

As well as all this, we once again have the Blackpool ‘super’ group – Kraul Never Say Die Catlow Dinosaurs; the band made up of members of Goonies Never Say Die (including ex GNSD member Simon Morgan), Kraul, Dinosaurs Are Shit Dragons and Laura Catlow with a set list consisting entirely of cover songs. The band played earlier in the year at A Very Messy Nineties Dance Night where their set went down so well they decided to try it again at all subsequent nights like this.

All in all it’s definitely a great way to celebrate Christmas.  Entrance is just £1 on the door with no advance tickets so get down early to make sure you get in. It all kicks off this Saturday, 22nd December, at 7:30pm at The Blue Room.  For more information visit the event page.

I would’ve gone to this, but it’s at the Blue Room & it clashes with The Delmars At The Fairhaven in Lytham Street Annes.
