Joss Arnott Dance and Dame Evelyn Glennie join forces for 5|0 – a birthday celebration marking the company’s 5th and Dame Evelyn’s 50th
This is to be a spectacle, a must see; likely to impress, intensify and inspire you through choreographic precision, original musical scores, and a contemporary performance masterclass; a signature combination of weaponry in Arnott’s work. To top it off, we are excited to say it is coming to Blackpool Grand Theatre this November as part of a national tour
Joss Arnott Dance presents a triple bill of new, powerful and heart-pounding choreography, performed by the company’s trademark all-female cast and accompanied by live performance by GRAMMY award-winner and 2015 Polar Music Prize laureate Dame Evelyn Glennie. Created by Artistic Director Joss Arnott, 5|0, a new triple bill, demonstrates why the company has emerged as one of the most exciting voices in British contemporary dance.
The triple bill features works 24, a quartet inspired by the themes and concepts within the recent Alexander McQueen V&A exhibition Savage Beauty, solo piece titled V which explores the rare ad contorted beauty of our bodies and New production Wide Awakening.
5|0 is a co-commission between Blackpool Grand, DanceEast, Swindon Dance, Pavilion Dance, South East Dance, CAST and developed with Dance City. Supported using public funding by Arts Council England and PRS for Music Foundation.
There will also be a post-show discussion on Thursday 19th November, which will give great insight and opportunity to learn more about the company. You can book this as well as a ticket to see the show via the Grand Theatre Website:
5|0 shows 7:30pm 19 November 2015 at Blackpool Grand Theatre. Tickets £13.50-19.50, with other concessions for students and groups available. For more information or to book visit www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk or call 01253 290190.
