Not sure how to while away the daylight half-term hours before the fantastic Lightpool activities get underway? If you have younger creative types to entertain a spooktacular option is the Halloween themed activities at The Mount Pavillion, Fleetwood from this coming Saturday through to Bonfire Night. The free programme assembled by LeftCoast brings together a wide selection of things to do including arts and crafts, storytelling, street art and more.
The Spin Doctors are back with their fantastic splodge-a-matic machine on Saturday 29 October from 1 to 4pm. Creepy additions have been unleashed and the Monster-Splodge-A-Matic spin painting machine will be powered by lightning bolts and swamp gas. Suitable for ages 2+ years.
On 30 October from 1 pm you can create your very own spooky Halloween splodge painting with specially brewed colours including Vampire’s blood and ectoplasm! This drop in event is suitable for 2+ years.
Sarah Hicks returns to the Mount on Monday 31 October 1-4pm to host a Halloween themed craft workshop, where you can make your very own spooky decorations and treats for Halloween. There are three 50 minute sessions for this workshop running at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Suitable for 3 years+.
Les Pounder visits on Tuesday 1 November 1-4pm, with his Raspberry Pi super computer. Join Les in designing your own fireworks using bright lights and a little code. There will be three 60 minute sessions for this workshop, running at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm. Due to the nature of the session there is a higher age threshold and participants must be 7 years+.
Enter the magical realm of storytelling with Ian Douglas on Wednesday 2 November 1-4pm as he takes you on an interactive storytelling experience full of magic, mayhem, making and madness. There will be two 75 minute sessions for this workshop running at 1pm and 2.30pm. Suitable for ages 1 years+.
Create you’re very own light up book fold bonfire complete with flickering light, twigs and leaves and topped off with sequins on Thursday 3 November 1-4pm as part of a creative book folding workshop with Karen Thomas. There will be two 75 minute sessions for this workshop running at 1pm and 2.30pm. Suitable for ages 5 years+
Learn about the basics and history of street art with Skool of Street on Friday 4 November 1-4pm. Create your very own sprayed vinyl record to keep as a souvenir of what you have learned with a fun atmosphere and a family friendly Hip Hop beat in the background. There will be two 75 minute sessions for this workshop running at 1pm and 2.30pm. As with the Tuesday session participants must be 7 years+.
Join artist Tina Dempsey to make your own Forever Firework to take home on Saturday 5 November 1-4pm. Be prepared to get messy as you will be using paint, paper and recycled plastic to create these beautiful 3D sculptures. There will be two 75 minute sessions for this workshop running at 1pm and 2.30pm. Suitable for ages 3 years+.
Numbers are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis for all workshops. You’re adviced arrive early, as once a workshop has started it may not be possible to permit late admissions
