Christmas shopping can get pretty difficult when you just can’t decide what to buy for your nearest and dearest. You know, those times when socks are just too samey. When mass produced homewares or ‘Keep Calm’ canvases just won’t do the trick. Then shopping madness becomes all consuming and everything seems to turn into reindeer ornaments or multi-packs of inedible candy canes.
If this description has brought you out in cold sweats, do not fear! Everyone’s favourite relative, Aunty Social, has got your back this year.

Blott Studios, Charabanc Shop, Colette Halstead Glass, the Grundy Art Gallery, the Old Rock Factory and Beau Belle Boutique are all opening late this Thursday for shoppers to explore the artistic side of town and bag a unique gift.
Co-ordinated by Aunty Social, the event offers opportunities to not only shop for you gifts but also see some of them in production, with techniques from screen printing to glassware on display. It also offers the opportunity to support Blackpool based creative whilst simultaneously surprising your nearest and dearest with unique, locally designed and sourced gifts of exceptional quality. It just doesn’t get better than that!

Blott Studios on King Street will be open from 5-8pm offering up to 70% off a variety of original artworks and home-wares produced by artists from Blackpool. They’ll also be providing a warming glass of mulled wine perfect to keep people going on the ‘Make It Blackpool’ trail.
Charabanc Shop on Coronation Street will be open from 6-9pm with a unique range of jewellery, cards, clothing and cards from across Lancashire. They’ll also have festive foodie treats upon arrival – just the job to warm shoppers up on a chilly Thursday night.

A little out of town Colette Halstead Glass Studio on Woodland Grove will be throwing open their doors and welcoming shoppers in to browse their award winning range of glassware. Including jewellery, home-wares and decorative glass you’re sure to find something to fill a stocking.
Over at the Grundy Art Gallery they’ll be keeping their doors open until 7pm to give shoppers a chance to visit the Neon Exhibition and stop by their ‘hidden gem’ shop. Featuring a wide array of gift ideas from locally based and visiting artists, people will be able to head home with something unique in their sack.

The Old Rock Factory on Deansgate will be open from 5-8pm giving people the chance to take a break from the shopping to see the magic behind the screen printing myth take place before their very eyes. Art lovers will also be able to chat to Blackpool based screen printer Robin Ross about his artwork, and maybe find something that catches their eye while you’re there.
For shoppers looking for a outfit for the festive period Beau Belle Boutique on Coronation Street will also be open offering a beautiful selection of dresses perfect for any occasion.
Duncan Hodgson, Aunty Social Director, said: “Blackpool has a wealth of creative and artistic businesses and this is a fantastic chance to see what they’ve got to offer.
