A Christmas Miracle
A Christmas Miracle

Child poverty is an issue in Blackpool that we are all too aware of.  It is both a local and a national problem that seems to be ever growing.  Students and staff at The Blackpool Sixth Form College are using their talents to raise awareness of this significant issue.

Ten schools from across the Fylde Coast joined up with Blackpool Sixth students to record the song and create an accompanying video on Tuesday 8th November.  They were also supported by a number of community music groups and local companies provided logistical support.

This musical campaign has already gained a huge amount of interest within the North West, with celebs like Peter Kay, Alan Halsall and Lucy Fallon supporting the venture.

AltB’s Lisa Bower will be talking to Ash Goodinson, one of the project co-ordinators, in more detail about the album over the weekend, but you don’t need to wait for that.  Get clicking and downloading the single now and do your bit in the fight against child poverty.

The single will be sold on Amazon for 69p, iTunes for 79p, and Google Play for 99p.  All proceeds go to The Children’s Society.
