Buddy: The Classic Rock Musical Returns

Coming soon to the Grand Theatre, ‘Buddy’, the riveting story of Buddy Holly’s rise to fame which includes a chance to bop to many classic chart hits, and also marks the tragic passing of the star after a fateful plane crash in 1959.

At the tender age of twenty- two, Buddy Holly’s life and career came to its sad end just as his hits were starting to transport him to fame.

With Rock and Roll oldies such as ‘Peggy-Sue’, and ‘That’ll be the Day’, Buddy Holly had world domination in his hands.  Despite being a sceptic of the rock and roll music scene, he was very much its rising star.

‘Buddy’, follows the life and times of the pop star, from the makings of Buddy Holly and the Crickets, through to the terrible plane crash which killed him and also Ritchie Valens just ten minutes after take – off.

Referenced latterly in the song by Don Mclean, ‘American Pie’, the singer became posthumous with the acclaim this song had amongst a newer audience.

The Buddy Holly Story, ‘Buddy’ is an emotional rollercoaster for all rock and roll fans.  Expect a sure hit with the twenty fifth anniversary here in Blackpool starring an original cast.

Whether you remember Buddy Holly or you are a millennial fan, this show is a must see at The Grand Theatre for its 25th Anniversary Tour.
