March Of The Mods

March of the Mods

Fans of the Mod scene should head down to the Waterloo pub tomorrowย for a musical feast right on the doorstep.

The event features six live bands: Button Up, The Immediates, Heavy Sol, Kite Collectors, The Atmospherics and hosts, The Reaction. Support is from DJs Norman Haslam, Double Barrel and Gaz Heckman.

All good value at ยฃ10, for as much 60s Mod, Beat, RnB, Northern Soul and Ska as you might be able to handle, and then a bit more.

The event kicks off at 3.00pm and is scheduled to finish at midnight. Tickets are available in advance from Skiddle.

Gaz Heckman tells me there will be a scooter ride from the Waterloo, down the promenade and back to the pub, 11:00 on the morning of the event. Contact: ย 07846 736029 for further details.

The Waterloo is sited on the junction of Central Drive, Waterloo Road and St Anneโ€™s Road junction. If you are not arriving by scooter, the pub is an easy walking from Blackpool South railway station and is served by Blackpool Transport lines 5, 7 and 15/16.

Hereโ€™s to the sometimesย vibrant Blackpool local music scene!

I have worked in the housing and transport professions for several local authorities, specialising in policy, strategy preparation and bid writing. Having always had an interest in film, the visual arts in general, theatre, music and lterature, I thought it would be good to combine the writing experience with these interests to contribute to altBlackpool. In addition to writing, my hobbies include watercolour and pastel painting, photography, woodwork, cycling and vegetable gardening.
