If your mother was a hamster and your father smelled of elderberries, then a real treat is headed your way this autumn! Hit musical Spamalot will be heading to the Winter Gardens Blackpool in September as part of it’s UK tour.
In this spammier than ever brand-new production, scenes are packed full of misfit knights, killer rabbits, dancing nuns and ferocious Frenchmen. Join King Arthur as he travels with his hapless Knights of the Round Table on a divine mission to locate the illusive Holy Grail – with Python-esque quality.
The musical, based loosely upon elements of Monty Python and The Holy Grail, was written by Python alumni, Eric Idle, who also composed the score alongside John DuPrez, fampus for his work on Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life. It is being brought to Blackpool by Selladoor, the production company responsible for recently bringing Avenue Q to the resort, and Mercury Theatre, Colchester.
With comic tunes including Brave Sir Robin, We’re Knights of the Round Table and perennial favourite Always Look on the Bright Side of Life, Spamalot will have you singing and laughing and longing for more.
No need to consult the Book of Armaments. This show will blow your mind on three, that being the third number, without having to rely upon the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch! Spamalot runs from Friday 8 – Saturday 16 September with various performance times. Saddle up and check out the Winter Gardens Blackpool website to book your tickets as they go on sale today. Prices start from £15.
