Pepper at the Pavilion

Being the culture vultures you all are altBlackpool readers won’t have missed the coverage of the 50th anniversary of the issue of the iconic Beatles Sergeant Pepper album. And things are Getting Better (see what I did there) with the news that Lytham Festival will include a concert in which the album will be played in its entirety.

The Mersey Beatles will be appearing a Lowther Pavilion on Wednesday 2nd August. Part one will be Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band uncut, whilst the second part of the concert will plunder the extensive other special tracks penned and performed by the Fab Four.

The Mersey Beatles were the resident Beatles tribute band at Liverpool’s legendary Cavern Club for ten years, between 2002-2012. They have played more than 600 shows at the world-famous venue. They exude the spirit of John, Paul, George and Ringo and are great live.

Lytham Festival Director Peter Taylor said: “This is going to be a really special night at Lytham Festival. The Mersey Beatles are a sensational band who perfectly capture the spirit and sound of The Beatles brilliantly.

“We cannot think of a better way to celebrate arguably the most important album ever recorded than by having Liverpool’s favourite, most authentic tribute to The Beatles perform Sgt Pepper live in its entirety. The second half will be a total Beatles party packed with the hits we all know and love. We’d advise Beatles fans to get their tickets now because this is going to be a night to remember!”

Tickets are now on sale priced at £17, and available from lythamfestival.com and lowtherpavilion.co.uk.
