Marti Pellow joins Lytham Festival line-up

The festival will take place at the Lowther Pavilion and Main Arena venues between 2nd and 6th August 2017 and promises a varied entertainment feast for all cultural palates. This now includes former Wet Wet Wet lead singer and solo star, Marti Pellow.

Pellow performed previously at the festival in 2015 and commented ‘It’s great to be back – I just love playing what is without question one of the best festivals in the UK.’ As part of the last night West End Proms event on 6th August, fans can look forward to renditions of hits including Sweet Little Mystery, Wishing I Was Lucky and one of the longest running Number One singles in UK Chart history, Love Is All Around.

A 60 piece orchestra will support, together with a host of stage and screen stars. These will include: Broadway royalty, Miss Saigon star Lea Salonga; musical theatre group Collabro; Olivier Award winner Ruthie Henshall; Chicago star Claire Sweeney; 90s pop sensation Jon Lee; Blackpool musical theatre star Jodie Prenger; Lytham-born rising West End star Lucie Mae Sumner; and English National Opera soprano Jo Appleby. I have worked in the housing and transport professions for several local authorities, specialising in policy, strategy preparation and bid writing. Having always had an interest in film, the visual arts in general, theatre, music and lterature, I thought it would be good to combine the writing experience with these interests to contribute to altBlackpool. In addition to writing, my hobbies include watercolour and pastel painting, photography, woodwork, cycling and vegetable gardening.
