Off To See The Wizard

After Peter Pan at Blackpool Opera House this year, 2018 will see audiences following the yellow brick road to spend an unforgettable Christmas with Dorothy and her friends in the musical adventure The Wizard of Oz.

You probably know the story inside out but just in case.  After a tornado whisks away a young Kansas farm girl, Dorothy, to the magical land of OZ, she starts her quest to find the mighty Wizard of Oz who has the power to send her home. Along the way she meets a Scarecrow, a Tin man and a Cowardly Lion who help her on her journey. But will she be defeated by the Wicked Witch of the West? You’ll have to come along to find out.

David Hutchinson, Artistic Director of Selladoor Family said:

‘Bringing this RSC version of The Wizard of Oz to the Opera House in 2018 marks the second year in our partnership with the Winter Gardens, to share another classic family story on stage during the festive season. Once again, we’re delighted to be working alongside the team at the Winter Gardens to create an exciting musical theatre experience for the whole family and introduce many youngsters to theatre for the very first time’

The Wizard of Oz will run from 7 December to 30 December.  If you are feeling really keen tickets go on sale today at http://www.wintergardensblackpool.co.uk/events/wizard-of-oz/.
