Local favourite Bootleg Social has announce this morning that they will be welcoming Bristolian post-Punk band IDLES as part of the band’s April Unity tour.
The gig, which has been organised in collaboration with Pink Rabbit Events, is one of a number of that the Topping Street venue have hosted since they opened giving them a reputation as being one of the hottest underground music venues in town.
Since releasing their debut album Brutalism in March 2017 IDLES have been flying high, with the album being crowned by Steve Lamaq as BBC 6 Music’s album of the year. They have also have a sold out residency in New York towards the end of the year and are fast being booked at major European music festivals for this summer.
Milo McManus, manager of Bootleg Social, said: “Getting this band in is a major coup for the town. Although the Blackpool pulls big crowds at the Empress Ballroom, no independent venue in the town has ever pulled off a band this “current” and this highly tipped for the top.”
IDLES play Bootleg Social on Sunday 15 April. Tickets went on sale at 10am this morning and are available from bootlegsocial.co.uk/events
