Tim Vine comedy can have you dying on the floor in stitches and his act should probably have a health warning. As a fan of Radio 4’s Tim Vine Chat Show, I can testify that this man is absolutely hilarious and has such stamina and relentless wit through each and every programme. This show is a must see.
Now Tim Vine is to bring his brand of hyper-quick fire humour to the home of variety and particularly comedy, Blackpool’s legendary Grand Theatre stage. These must be hot tickets for any comedy fan. Especially since Ken Dodd’s recent and tragically early death at the age of 90, there are few comics who can match this verging on ‘stream of consciousness’ drollery.
Tim Vine comedy has an incredible pedigree and the man’s CV is quite hard to believe. Since winning the Perrier Newcomer award at the Fringe back in 1995, the former world record holder for ‘most jokes told in an hour’ has gone on to perform numerous sell-out tours and festivals in the UK and beyond. Along with radio, he has done TV – Not Going Out, The Sketch Show and Blandings – a feature film – Fearmoth – more TV in game shows Whittle, Fluke and Don’t Blow The Inheritance, together with contributions to charity telethons Sport and Comic relief. Does Time Vine comedy genius ever sleep?
If you want to try and emulate him, consider buying his books The Biggest Ever Tim Vine Joke Book and The Tim Vine Bumper Book Of Silliness. Just don’t expect to match him.
The master of the one-liner will be telling lots of silly new jokes, showing off new homemade props, singing some new daft ditties, and all with the appearance of confidence. Apparently the following subjects will be touched upon briefly: pixie football, ice cream and nibble feeders. What can these be?
So if you’re in the mood for some quality comedy, you know where The Grand’s box office is. Remember this is one night only. If you have any medical condition that uncontrollable laughter may exacerbate, I’d steer clear of this show. Others, get in there!
