Thursday evening sees the preview of Caffe Dolce’s February exhibition. Fast becoming renowned as the coffee shop with the freshest artwork in town, this month Caffe Dolce plays host to local artists Ellamarie Thornhill and Kevin Malone.
The preview evening runs from 6-8pm on Thursday 7 February 2013 and gives you an opportunity to take a look at the exhibition, talk to the artists and sample some of Caffe Dolce’s fantastic selection of coffee, cakes and hot food. There is also the chance to network with other artists and creatives from across Blackpool (and beyond).
Ellamarie’s work centres on natural materials providing an array of different effects and visuals which are engaging to the eye. On her Facebook page she says of herself:
I have a massive interest in all things arty (obviously), painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, textiles… so there is nothing I won’t give a go.
In contrast, Kev’s pieces are a series of framed photographs featuring internet meme, Danbo. For those of you who haven’t heard of Danbo, he is a tiny cardboard robot who originally appeared in the Japanese manga Yotsuba back in 2006 and has since spread across the internet like wildfire. Seen as an icon of curious innocence, Danbo has appeared in many every day situations and has inspired a vast array of fan art, spawning several Facebook fan pages.
Caffe Dolce’s February exhibition runs throughout the month with the preview evening taking place on 7 February 2013 from 6pm. For more information visit the Caffe Dolce Facebook page, event or follow them on Twitter: @Caffe_Dolce.
