New release for the Queens of Blackpool! Rae Morris ft. Soph Aspin

Musically inspired chippy tea Fridays in Blackpool featuring Rae Morris and Soph Aspin.

Today is National Fish and chips day, and with that comes the release of a delightful new track from local lass Rae Morris. The song features the queen of Blackpool grime Sophie Aspin who brings a new flavour to Rae’s sound and style. The two Blackpool talents have collaborated to deliver a beautifully unconventional record, creating a wave of interest on social media, with support across the board and the backing of Spice girl Mel C who recently commented ‘Yes! Blackpool Massive’.

Earlier this year Rae did a call out for a verse on Tik Tok and when Sophie responded it was a match made in heaven. The lyrics explore how Rae feels like she is losing her native Blackpool accent, to which Sophie responds: ‘Well you up and left, memories are all that you are left with’.

‘This song is so Blackpool’, said Sophie when we chatted to her this week about the collab. ‘I love its sentiment, the lyrics really highlight that no matter where you go in life, home is home. I think it’s especially hard to leave Blackpool behind. I really loved working with Rae on this one, it’s a lovely summer jam.’
