Virtuoso guitarist Jon Gomm is set to return to Blackpool on the 8 June 2013 for Sand, Sea & Spray. The weekend before Blackpool’s annual urban art festival will see the Winter Garden’s Theatre Bar play host to an intimate gig with only 200 tickets available and a chance for fans to enjoy Jon’s unique style.
Jon’s rise to fame has seen him receive a glowing one word endorsement from Stephen Fry who tweeted a link to his YouTube page saying simply “wow” and his international tours have gained him a cult following with his song Passionflower receiving over 4 million views on YouTube. In 2012 he was also interviewed on BBC Breakfast telling viewers about his unique playing style, attitude to the music industry and reasons for remaining an independent artist.
Also in 2012 Jon’s management were approached by producers from ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent to see whether he would be interested in appearing in the annual talent competition. Jon passionately declined, taking to Facebook to say:
The reason we turned down Britain’s Got Talent is that I can’t imagine anything worse than going on after a dancing chihuahua and then being buzzed off the stage – halfway through a song I’ve poured my soul into – by a celebrity judge, about whose opinion I could not care less.
With tickets at £15 each this is surely an evening of live music you won’t want to miss. Tickets will shortly be available from The Winter Gardens Box Office or you can book your spot now online by clicking here.
