Beach House Blackpool launched a hot new winter menu last week, inspired by the sun-kissed flavours of the Mediterranean.
Executive Chef Diego Martinez was proud to welcome guests to the Beach House to present a new menu that celebrates Spanish cuisine, featuring bold flavours and wholesome ingredients.
Hearty plates include Chicken Bara Bara in a smooth stroganoff-style sauce while the summer is kept alive with grilled octopus or catch of the day whole fish smothered in lemon and fresh herbs. The warming Winter Nourish Bowl is packed with goodness, while succulent fillet steaks are expertly grilled on the authentic Josper charcoal oven.
Rooted in tradition, the oven was created by Josep and Pere in Barcelona, using sustainable charcoal energy to produce highly flavourful food and requires a highly skilled chef to master it. South American born Diego honed his expertise working in top restaurants across the Mediterranean before moving to England to continue to work on his craft.
He said: “I came to Beach House because I love the laid back vibe and because they have a Josper oven. The incredible depth of flavour produced when cooking with it is something you just cannot replicate. It has taken me many years to learn how to regulate the charcoals to achieve the perfect result and now I am passing that skill onto my team.
“The new menu is inspired by mine and everyone’s travels from Beach House across the Mediterranean and beyond, and these new winter dishes are a big part of us and our history. I hope everyone enjoys them. My favourite is anything cooked on the Josper! I love the intense flavours it gives to everything from the whole wild lobster to a tomahawk steak.”
The Tchobanian family who run the Beach House are keen to remind locals that their doors are open to them. Armenian-born Hagop and his wife Cheryl have been part of the Blackpool landscape for decades, running the boats and ice cream concessions at Stanley Park before also taking on the Beach House when it opened in 2012. Hagop said he’s keen to present a laid back vibe in the bar area, with more focus on food and their expertly mixed cocktails which are competitively priced.
Cheryl said: “Beach House is an extension of our own home. We want people to come here and feel good while enjoying our incredible views of the Irish Sea and beyond.”
Hagop said: “Our live music nights also add to the vibe. Beach House is a celebration of great food, good company, and the magic of the festive season.”
Beach House Blackpool is located at Festival House, Promenade, Blackpool, and is open from Sunday to Thursday from 12noon to 11pm, Friday and Saturday 12noon to 1am.
