Theatre Preview: Kym Marsh stars in Single White Female

Get ready to become obsessed with TV favourite KYM MARSH as she looks for a SINGLE WHITE FEMALE in the spine-tingling new stage drama at Blackpool Grand Theatre from Tuesday 17 February to Saturday 21 February 2026.

The 90s feels like a long time ago, but I do remember the film with Bridget Fonda and Jennifer Jason Leigh, which is the source material for this play. It was gripping, the tension building to a satisfying cinematic climax. This stage production promises to match and exceed that effect; I really do love cinema, but everything’s better live on the stage in front of you.

Kym Marsh.

The production stars, Kym Marsh, multi-talented actor and singer (Coronation Street, Waterloo Road, Abigail’s Party), and is described as a bold and modern reimagining of John Lutz’s bestselling book, SWF Seeks Same. This new play updates the original story to the social media age in a tale of ambition, obsession and coping in a potentially isolated world.

Central character Allie is a recently divorced mum, balancing single parenthood with work. When she decides to advertise for a lodger, the delightful Hedy comes into her orbit. But as their lives intertwine, boundaries blur, and things start to go wrong. But by how much and how badly?

Kym Marsh says:

“I am so excited to be bringing this brilliant, brand new and thrilling play to theatres. I remember being totally gripped by the movie when I first saw it in the cinema and could never have imagined back then that I’d be starring in the world premiere of its life on stage. Get ready to be thrilled, shocked and entertained and watch out for those stiletto heels!”

Single White Female is at Blackpool Grand Theatre from Tuesday 17 February to Saturday 21 February 2026. Call the Box Office on 01253 290190 or visit www.BlackpoolGrand.co.uk for bookings and further information. Matinee and evening performances available.
