No Rehearsals. No Setlists. Just Collaboration.
There’s something magical happening in Blackpool’s music scene — and it’s not locked behind rehearsal room doors. It’s on the fly and in the moment, with artists stepping up to play together for the first time. It’s called Jam Night, and it’s the most musically collaborative thing to hit the town in donkeys.
Set up by homegrown music production duo Hot Saké (Rhy Grooves and Liam Baugh) the mission is simple: shine a light on Blackpool’s local talent, bring people together and have a proper good time doing it. Since April, Hot Sake have been hosting bi-monthly, fully improvised jam sessions that throw out the rulebook and welcome players of all stripes. They’re buzzing to share that the fourth event lands at Bootleg Social on Thursday 30th October — just in time for a bit of pre-Halloween mischief.
Whether you’re a singer, a saxophonist, or someone who’s only just found their feet on the drums, all are welcome at Jam Night. It’s not about perfection — it’s about passion, play, and creating something totally fresh.
Hot Sakè provide the full backline — drums, bass, electric and acoustic guitars, keyboards and percussion — and if you’ve got something more specialist (think trumpet, cello or clarinet), just bring it along and they’ll fit you in. All you need to do is turn up, sign your name at the door, and they will let you know when it’s your time to shine.
The event is completely free, open to ages 16+, and runs from 7PM to 11PM. Fancy dress is welcome but by no means required — it‘s the night before Halloween, so why not get into the spirit?
Jam Night is about more than just music. It’s about community, connection, and giving Blackpool’s creatives a space to meet, make, and move. The Jam Night stage has seen old friends reunited, brand-new bands form on the spot, and countless moments of pure joy. Hot Sakè do this in association with Rock Hard Studios, Coastal Radio and Inertial Sounds, all of whom share their love of collaboration and the local scene.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro, a bedroom producer, or just someone who loves a good night out, Rhy and Liam would love to see you.
Bring your mates, bring your mum, bring the vibes!
