Wyre Estuary Country Park will host the return of the Big Green Get Together this Saturday, offering a day of free performances, workshops and environmental activities as part of the UK-wide Great Big Green Week.
Now in its fourth year, the Big Green Get Together has become a fixture in Wyre’s summer calendar, bringing together families, community groups and environmental organisations for a programme centred on nature, sustainability and the local landscape.
Running 10.30am-4pm at the Stanah park, the day combines outdoor entertainment with opportunities to learn more about climate change and practical action to protect the environment.
Among the headline attractions is the Big Bloomers Garden Show (main photo), which will present a series of performances blending magic, mind-reading and audience participation. Shows will take place at 11am, 1.15pm and 3.30pm.
Younger visitors can take part in workshops led by Junk Jodie, whose sessions use recycled materials to explore storytelling, creativity and reuse. The workshops are scheduled for 11.45am and 2.45pm.

The programme also includes the Falconry Dismay Theatre Show, a comic educational performance featuring birds of prey. Combining live birds with theatrical storytelling, the show aims to offer audiences an insight into falconry and wildlife conservation. Performances will be staged at 12.30pm and 2pm.
Throughout the day, environmental organisations and community groups will host stalls and activities focused on biodiversity, climate change and sustainable living.
The event forms part of Great Big Green Week, a national celebration of community action for nature and the climate, taking place across the UK.
