After a recent listen to Show of Hand’s work, my mind swims with witty lyrics and wry poetry. The great musicianship and energy is apparent even after a short peruse of their catalogue.
This November, Show of Hands, are coming to Blackpool’s own Grand Theatre. For one night only this fantastic group will be performing in Blackpool. On Friday November 8, Show of Hands are celebrating 21 years of partnership. The group have sold out The Royal Albert Hall four times and are the recipients of three Radio 2 Folk Awards.
Show of Hands have become one of the major players in the folk music scene over the last twenty years. Last year they headlined the Fylde Folk Festival in Fleetwood, this year the important group toured Germany and now they are returning to England for the Hand in Hand tour.

This tour sees the group becoming their own support act; before the three come together in the second act, each will perform separately showing off their musical talents. Singer/Songwriter Steve Knightly, multi-instrumentalist Phil Beer and double-bassist Miranda Sykes will join together after presenting their talents to become the brilliant Show of Hands and put on a great show. On the tour the band are showcasing their latest album; the critically acclaimed Anglo-Saxon themed record, Wake the Union.
Tickets are sure to go quickly for this concert. For your chance to see one of Devon’s greatest musical exports call The Grand Theatre Box Office on: 01253 74 33 39, book online or visit the box office on Church Street.
