Last week I attended a lovely little get together at The Grand Theatre for a sneak preview of what’s on offer for 2014. Cheese and wine was in plentiful supply along with lots of enthusiastic and smiley faces.
Attendees were subject to a fun and lively performance by St Teresa’s Primary School, Thornton-Cleveleys. The children took inspiration from James Wilton, Rugby World Cup opening ceremony choreographer, who brings his latest show Last Man Standing to The Grand this April.
In 2012 The Grand Theatre was awarded the status of a National Portfolio Organisation and because of this great support from the Arts Council England The Grand is able to promote and attract even more amazing performances and experiences for the forthcoming year.
Some of the speciality acts for 2014 include Hofesh Schechter’s latest work, Sun, the renowned and thrilling Fabulous Beast Dance Theatre, as well as one-day international hip hop festival, Breakin’ Convention.
Now is the time to bite the bullet and dust off your dancing shoes to experience a packed bill. This year’s programme is aimed at a cross section audience with a whole day dedicated to the very cool and sometimes underground medium of break dance and its accompanying music.
Whether you have an interest in ballet, tap or contemporary, this season at The Grand will get your head spinning and your toes tapping. Keep up to date with their thrilling season of dance and other dance opportunities at Guidance Online.
