The Grand Theatre introduces the fresh and vibrant North West Dance Company 12 Degrees North on Wednesday 7th November 2012.

12 Degrees North will be presenting a varied triple bill of new and exciting work by three leading choreographers, Alesandra Seutin, Gary Clarke and Antonia Grove at the beautiful Grand Theatre. The engaging programme kicks off with Article 1, a new dance piece by Alesandra Seutin for twelve dancers. With her vision of fusing African traditional dance with contemporary dance and urban forms, internationally acclaimed choreographer, Seutin creates distinct Afro-pean dance theatre from a feminine perspective.

The second component of the triple bill is a contrasting piece created by acclaimed British talent Gary Clarke. Bitter Suite is a fast and furious portrayal of human relationships which involves seven dancers; six women, one man and a room full of envy. Gary Clarke combines daring physical theatre with quirky and visually striking choreography in this stunning dance piece.

Finally, the third section in the triple bill is presented by Antonia Grove, Critics Choice Award winner and Artistic Director of contemporary dance company Probe. Groves has created a dance for five dancers, utilising the skills and individual qualities of the performers to create an energetic piece which could stand, walk or run, in any direction.

12 Degrees North is a new and innovative pilot programme which supports the transition from training to professional practice for graduates of dance and performing arts. something for everyone!
