Preview: Sing-a-long-a Frozen

On Saturday 27 September Disney’s Sing-a-long-a Frozen arrives at Blackpool’s Grand Theatre. Frozen has become the fifth biggest selling film of all time and also the biggest animated film in the world.

The main character of the film is Anna, who aims to rekindle her relationship with her sister Elsa. Elsa’s powers plunge the Kingdom of Arendelle into eternal winter after she flees from their home so, Anna, sets off on a difficult journey to save the kingdom from eternal winter and convince her sister to return.ย  She is accompanied by Kristoff, an ice harvester from the mountains, and his loyal reindeer Sven. Along the way, Anna, and her friends meet up with a snowman named Olaf. And so the magic begins.

During the event at the Grand, the audience will be engaging in a family-friendly, sing-a-long show, which will be accompanied by a live host. The soundtrack for Frozen has already gone platinum and the Academy Award winning song ‘Let it Go’ will appear within the infectious soundtrack. Disney’s Frozen will be screened, with accompanying lyrics, so the audience can join in . They will receive a fun pack to help them sing-a-long with the soundtrack, and can dress up as their favourite characte. There will also be a fancy dress competition.

The Sing-a-long-a Productions started in a residential home for the elderly in Inverness Scotland, aiming to involve residents in interactive group therapy, where Seven Brides for Seven Brothers was the theme. Since then Sing-a-long-a has become almost a household name. In 1999, Sing-a-long-a Sound of Music was screened for an eight week sell out show at Prince Charles Cinema. Other Sing-a-long-a productions have been Dirty Dancing, Grease, and Moulin Rouge.

Tickets for Sing-a-long-a Frozen are available on the Grand Theatre website, at the box office or by phoning 01253 290190.
