She’s not averse to a rhyme or two, and it’s a fair bet that comic poet Pam Ayres will have plenty of them up her sleeve when she visits Blackpool Grand Theatre for an early evening show on November 9.
Entitled An Evening with Pam Ayres, the show will include odes from her new book of poetry, You Made Me Late Again!, as well as old favourites.
Pam’s work is funny and approachable thanks to her warmth of personality and accessible humour. Her lines of wit might sound simple, as though quickly dashed off, but behind these lie her skill and talent for hair-trigger timing and an acute eye for the detail of everyday life, which makes room for her depictions of the absurdity of modern life as we know it.
She has sold millions of books, CDs, and DVDs over her years of writing and performing, and she is still a regular on TV and Radio, such as Just A Minute, Ayres On The Air, The Paul O’Grady Show, Alan Titchmarsh Show, Countdown, and The One Show.
An Evening With Pam Ayres is at Blackpool Grand Theatre on Sunday November 9 at 5pm. Tickets are £21.50, available from the website, by phone (01253 290190) or by visiting the box office.
