Schools’ Performances Will Bring the Stage Alive at The Grand Theatre

Schools Alive

Schools Alive is back in February 2016 thanks to organisers, the Blackpool Music Service and Blackpool Music Education Hub. To create the showcase, each school and academy in Blackpool has been offered the amazing opportunity to perform at The Grand Theatre, on the same stage that has played host to a range of talented actors, comedians and musicians since the 1890’s.

The event will see 2,000 pupils from almost every Blackpool primary and high school perform in what has become a staple four-night show in The Grand’s calendar, with different schools taking part on different nights. Pupils, family, friends and teachers alike look forward to Schools Alive and the exciting opportunity to see the schoolchildren perform a range of songs, dances, and musical numbers that they have been working hard to perfect throughout the school year.

Grand Theatre Marketing Manager, Andrew Howard, said:

“The Grand is a community asset and it is really important to us that the local schoolchildren get to perform here. For many of the children taking part, Schools Alive is their first introduction to theatre and hopefully this positive experience will mean they continue to participate in Performing Arts in future. During Schools Alive week, the theatre is always buzzing – it’s the perfect opportunity for family, friends and school teachers to come together and enjoy a really great night out!”

Schools Alive takes place at the Grand Theatre from Monday 8th to Thursday 11th February from 7pm, with tickets priced at £7.50, available from the box office on 01253 290190 or visit www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk.
