Dial M for Murder

In these days of touchscreen smartphones and voice controlled Siri the idea of dialling anything these days seems a little bit last century. Despite this giant leap of technology one thing remains as exciting in any decade and that is a good old fashioned thriller.

The classic Dial M For Murder that The Grand Theatre is showing next month promises to be a just as tense and delightfully tangled a thriller as it was when Hitchcock took us for the ride with Grace Kelly back in the 1950’s.

You can expect great things from Talking Scarlet Theatre Company’s adaptation of this classic if their previous Grand Theatre outings (Murder with love and Sherlock Holmes and the ripper Murders) are anything to go by. With a cast that includes Oliver Mellor (from the Doctor Who episode Army Of Ghosts and the Big Finish audio adventures) and Grange Hills Miss Adams Terri Dwyer plus Marcus Hutton who starred in one of my all time favourite Doctor Who stories The Curse Of Fenric it also promises to be a little bit of a geek fest for those with such leanings.

The timeless tale of a husband obsessed with the thought that his wife is cheating on him and the lengths he will go to find out and exact a murderous vengeance is set to be one of The Grand’s drake highlights in its already to be shaping into a knockout season.

So get your tickets booked for Dial M For Murder and enjoy an evening of twists, turns and sinister goings on.

Dial M For Murder plays from 16th till the 20th of February at The Grand Theatre. For more information or to book tickets call 01253 290190 or visit www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk.
