Panto season is just around the corner and the Grand Theatre are giving families the chance to win six tickets to see Aladdin. All you need to do is find his magic lamp.
The wicked Abanazar has stolen the lamp and hidden it in Houndshill Shopping Centre. Now we must help Aladdin find the lamp before Abanazar unleashes his evil plot upon Blackpool.
From Monday 31 October to Saturday 5 November, a competition will be held in conjunction with four secret store locations within Houndshill Shopping Centre. Each shop will hide the stunning lamp in their store window on different days throughout the October half term. There will also be £2 off ticket vouchers in every participating shop, so make sure to grab yourself one in case you don’t win.
Helpfully, it couldn’t be simpler to bag yourself a prize:
- Take a picture of the magic lamp in the window of one of the secret shops
- Upload the picture to Twitter with the hashtag #FoundItGRAND
The lucky winner will win 6 tickets to Aladdin and the gorgeous, one of a kind, glass lamp.
Can’t find it? Well as luck would it have it the Grand Theatre have tipped us off about where the lamp might be so, if you follow @altBlackpool on Twitter, you might see some clues over the coming week.
The lamp was handmade by glass artist John Ditchfield of Glasform Ltd. John is an international glass master based in Blackpool. He specialises in bespoke architectural glass work and has created the most incredible ‘magic’ lamp glowing every colour of the rainbow.
Many locals may recognise his renowned piece, the ‘Dreamkeeper’. John’s pieces can also be seen in Cleveleys Wetherspoons and forms part of the Grand Theatre’s Matcham Court canopy design.
Andrew Howard, Grand Theatre Marketing Manager, said:
We’re thrilled to be working with local businesses to do something a little different and ignite excitement for our iconic Christmas event in Blackpool. The hunt is on for Aladdin’s lamp!
The winner can pick the performance of their choice to attend subject to availability. The vouchers are valid until 12pm on 14 November 2016 and are subject to availability on limited dates.
So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and help Aladdin find his lamp.
