Oh! What a night – for a completely fantastic, entertaining evening packed full of dance, comedy and cabaret head to Viva Blackpool.
With songs from most of the hit musical shows, Viva Blackpool, is definitely going to float your showboat.
Not my usual Thursday evening, I can assure you. I was lucky enough to obtainย complimentary tickets to view the pre-season launch of โViva Blackpoolโ. Thisย included a drink of sparkly, a buffet and a magnificent view of the stage, which featured a myriad of snippets from the forthcoming shows at โViva Blackpoolโ. There wereย tasters fromย The Jersey Boys and The Whitney Houston Experience. Camp compere, Leye D Johns, entertained with his risquรฉ jokes, as the audience sangย along to theย many recognisable hits from well knownย cabaret acts.
The evening was in full flow. Sassy showgirls, and their male partners danced the night away to popular songs from the top musicals.ย Costumes adorned withย feathers and full plumage ensured noย detail was missed. A new digitalised backdrop behind the stage has also improved the show upon past years and features some amazing graphics.
The โViva Blackpoolโ venue is impressive, featuring approximately forty tables, eachย seating up to twelve people. Waiters and waitresses mill around the huge floor space, waiting to take your personal drinks order at theย table and deliverย your favourite tipple right to you.
Sampling the food on offer was a treat, too, with a huge buffet fit for an army. I think I may have been a little optimistic with the chicken wings as I couldnโt finish them, but overall it was very tasty,ย withย a varied range of delicious dishes such as succulent meat balls in a tangy tomato sauce, a potato and cheese with chorizo sausage type croquette ball, salads, more chicken, mini burgers, chicken or beef, and of course crispy chips. This is just a sample of the food on offer, a more extensive menu is available.
Viva Blackpool, is situated at the Blackpool promenade end of Church Street, next door to the brand new Viva Vegas Diner, on the Promenade itself. So,if you likeย to dine Vegas style looking out onto the Blackpool sunset then this is the place to be.
Overall a much needed night out, I think, and reasonably priced for bookings and parties.
The show is obviously an adult show.ย Children are allowed when accompanied by adults, but be warned, there is some adult humour and language.
