Sex Education homecoming for Harry Clayton-Wright

Harry Clayton-Wright Sex Education

Form Blackpool has announced this morning that they will be bringing the award winning Sex Education by Harry Clayton-Wright to Blackpool this October at Bootleg Social.

Having grown up in Blackpool and performed in numerous shows and festivals on the Fylde Coast, the show will be something of a homecoming for Harry who now lives in Brighton and, if the reviews are anything to go by, its one show you don’t want to miss.

The show blends a no-holds barred interview with Harry’s mum, startling performance, moving storytelling and some good old-fashioned gay porn that his dad bought him when he was 14. The show is for anyone who’s wondered why they want what they want.

Delivered with the candour, positivity and charm that have made him an acclaimed international touring success (Miss Behave’s Gameshow & BRIEFS) and internet sensation (‘House of Air’ by Brendan Maclean – definitely NSFW, no really), audiences are invited to join Harry as he delves into his sexual past lives on stage.

The show premiered to sellout audiences in London and Brighton (as part of Brighton Fringe 2017) where it was awarded Best LGBTQ+ show of the festival, being described by BuzzFeed as “absolutely incredible.”

Harry is well known as an entertainer, performance artist, international mischief maker and internet provocateur. Growing up in a town ubiquitous with traditional show business, and trashy gay bars, has left stains that “simply won’t wash out,” he says. His work spans genre and taste levels, dipping his toes into the worlds of theatre, live art, cabaret and exhibitionism. One thing we do know, he has a unique love for the town he calls home.

Harry told us: “I’m so excited about Sex Education coming to Blackpool. Performing in the town is always special, so I can’t wait to bring the show to my hometown for its Northern premiere.

“Before the opportunity presented itself, I was curious as to how and where the work would fit in the current theatrical landscape, so a huge thank you to Form and Bootleg Social for being brilliant and supporting the work and making this happen.”

Sex Education is the first show in what promises to be an exciting and innovative season of performance by theatre and performance project Form who have recently received funding from Arts Council England.

Sex Education by Harry Clayton-Wright is at Bootleg Social on Thursday 5 October from 8pm. Tickets are on sale now priced £6. For more information or to book visit formblackpool.co.uk
