Forties To Noughties – Now A Club

If you are from the North Shore area chances are you are familiar with Forties To Noughties.  A popular vintage clothes shop on Dickson Road to start with, a cafe was added just down the road.  Now the entrepreneurial spirit has seen Bev and colleagues open a club which launched last week and altBlackpool were there.

Unlike the other establishments it’s not on Dickson Road itself so you need to know how to find it.  It’s slightly further inland at number 1 Cross Street, off High Street.  It’s an old venue which had been out of action for a decade before being restored – check out the picture above and you shouldn’t go far wrong, as you can perhaps see it is on the first floor of the building.

There was a large turnout for the first night, consisting of many friends of the proprietors and locals. The plan is for the venue to have a laid back feel, and in line with the Forties to Noughties branding largely play classic music.  There are intended to be a variety of shows and events, but also chilled evenings in the nostalgic surroundings.

The Forties To Noughties Club is open Thursdays to Sundays every week, with entry from 7.30pm.  For details of upcoming events check the Forties to Noughties Facebook page.
