Winter Gardens Announces Spectacular Peter Pan Cast

Panto season is now nearly upon us and the Winter Gardens is the latest venue to announce details of its show cast.   Peter Pan is not to be missed and all on the big stage at a classic Blackpool theatre.

Based on a real family, friends of writer J. M. Barrie, Peter Pan, the story of the slightly pagan boy who never grows up and yet wants his own family, has bewitched generations of people of all ages. Now the story is brought to life once more during Blackpool’s Christmas season. Cheer as Peter takes on the evil pirate, Captain Hook, cry at Tinkerbell’s self-sacrifice.

A star studded cast has been assembled. TV star Jennifer Ellison leads as Captain Hook, a role which writer JM Barrie originally intended to cast with a female performer. In the title role will be X Factor’s Jake Quickenden*, with Blackpool’s own Maureen Nolan as Mrs Darling. Scott Gallagher, Radio Wave’s breakfast host, features as Hook’s hapless sidekick, Smee.  There is plenty of local colour in the pantomime Peter Pan cast.

In addition, Grace Osborn plays Wendy, Elliot Clay as John and Robbie Curran as Michael. Gracie Lai takes on the role of Skylights, Lori Mclare as Liza and Alexia McIntosh as Tiger Lily. Starkey is portrayed by Norton James, currently touring in the show Spamalot.

With a live band, lavish set and spectacular costumes, join the magical journey to Neverland in this sensational, swashbuckling adventure. Second star to the right, and straight on to Blackpool!

The show is written by Robert Marsden and will be directed by Kirstie Davis, Lucie Pankhurst joins the team as Movement Director with LX Design from Chris Davey.

Tickets start at £10. Group tickets are also available with teachers/group guardians going free. I have worked in the housing and transport professions for several local authorities, specialising in policy, strategy preparation and bid writing. Having always had an interest in film, the visual arts in general, theatre, music and lterature, I thought it would be good to combine the writing experience with these interests to contribute to altBlackpool. In addition to writing, my hobbies include watercolour and pastel painting, photography, woodwork, cycling and vegetable gardening.
