Grundy Launches New Year Programme

Yesterday at The Grundy a group from the local arts community were invited to meet the new Curator Paulette Terry Brien, as well as hear about some of the new developments at The Gallery.

Alt Blackpool’s roving reporter didn’t take a notebook and pen so what follows are only highlights.  An exhibition including a scale model of a pier will snake through the gallery in an exhibition which will also include other pier related exhibits within the gallery’s existing collection.  Later in the year there will also be a circus themed exhibition trading on Blackpool’s links with this art form.  In addition to this there will be an exhibition of Grayson Perry’s tapestries.

Some of the other things that were revealed on the night were embargoed, so stay tuned to Alt Blackpool and The Grundy’s social media for more news in a few weeks.  In the meantime if you are feeling festive get down to the gallery this Saturday between 2pm and 3.15pm to listen to some magical stories with children’s writer Dan Worsley.  All ages are welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult, there is no charge.
