With just under two weeks to Christmas, you might be struggling to find a gift for that certain someone. We’ve put together a few suggestions to help make gifting a little easier.
First up it’s plant lovers
A lockdown hobby has become a way of life. After discovering their nurturing side, what started out as a few seedlings now puts Kew Gardens to shame. Here are some local shopping suggestions for someone whose living room is starting to look like a scene from Day of the Triffids.
Upside Down Houseplants
It’s a coffee shop, but with plants!
If you visited Upside Down pre-lockdown, you’ll know just how much they love plants. A variety of weird and wonderful greenery lines the main walls of the coffee shop like vegetal catwalk models. Plants have long been backdrop to the shop, providing living colour.
Based in Blackpool town centre, you can drop in and browse an extensive selection of greenery. You can pick up small gifts for pocket money prices ranging to the larger plants coming in at around £18-£20 mark. Staff are knowledgeable on plant care and provide care cards for you to take home. The variety of plants changes frequently, so it’s worth taking a look at their Facebook or Instagram to see what’s in store before you head in. You can also pre-order online for click and collect.
We can also browse a variety of rather fancy specialist coffees ranging from roughly £9.50-£18. The striking design of the packaging alone makes this a thoughtful gift for your coffee aficionado.
The coffee shop is still open for takeaway service, so make sure to pick up a brew for the journey home.

Iz started painting plant pots and was soon creating bespoke commissions for other plant fans. Fast forward to November and Iz picked up the keys to her first shop in St Annes. From a couple of orders a week to a full time job it’s been amazing to see this artist’s business flourish!
Iz is busy working on her existing Christmas orders and getting the shop ready (due to open Jan 2021), but has a few lovely gifts still available.
