Set in Stone

Set in Stone is a unique collection of Ian Tilton’s legendary Roses photographic portfolio. Manchester based Rock  Star photographer Ian Tilton is coming to Blackpool to exhibit a collection of his famous faces snapped during his career at creative industries hub FYCreatives. Professional, yet maverick Ian Tilton is regarded as one of the best on the scene. Taking iconic pictures of artists such as The Stone Roses, The Cure, Nirvana, Guns & Roses, Iggy Pop and many more.

FYCreatives- part of Blackpool Council’s Economic Development Division, has teamed up with two Blackpool based arts initiatives; Supercollider and The Lucky Jotter, to continue to deliver exciting and dynamic exhibition opportunities for Blackpool. It is set to be an ongoing collaboration between three Blackpool based arts and creative industry businesses, giving development opportunities for national and international artists, whilst also providing a platform opportunity for local emerging artists to engage with a professional practice. This new team for the arts is an ongoing collaboration accepting ongoing submission proposals to exhibit at FYCreatives, 154-158 Church Street.

Garth Gratrix of FYCreatives said:

Ian Tilton is iconic in his profession, so we are delighted to have his work exhibited at FYCreatives. To showcase people at the height of their professions is inspirational for Blackpool.

FYCreatives is a flagship venue for Blackpool Creative Industries growth and we are very happy to continue to develop a cultural aspect to what our venue offers to residents and tourists alike. Supercollider have been a long established partner for our Gallery space at FYC and it is great to collaborate further between ongoing growth with Supercollider and new developing initiatives such as The Lucky Jotter.

It is a great collaboration that endeavours to showcase a standard of work seen in larger cultural cities, to assist existing Blackpool students and practitioners within the creative sector to engage and understand a level of diversity and quality as they develop to compete on a national level.

Set in Stone arrives at FYCreatives on Monday 15 April 2013 with a launch evening from 6pm to 8pm giving you the chance to not only check out the exhibition, but also to hear a talk from Ian Tilton and Claire Caldwell. Set in Stone runs until 9 May 2013 is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm (excluding Tuesdays).
