Aiming Higher is a charity run by the parents of disabled children as well as professionals and volunteers. The charity aims to support the families of disabled children by assisting them to attend social activities, ensuring easy access to buildings, hosting family events at suitable locations and subsidizing the cost of activities. They want to improve the lives of disabled children by providing family events, accessible holidays and inclusive activities at venues such as Blackpool Zoo, The Sandcastle and Blackpool Tower.
On Sunday 28 July, Cowbell Radio’s In Crowd team and Blackpool Soul Club are collaborating to orchestrate a Family Fun Day at The Layton Institute to raise funds for this superb local charity. The fun starts at 10am and will go on until 6pm. Activities lined up include a scooter competition, an origami workshop, a bouncy castle and children’s rides. Chubbz the Clown will be providing balloon art and organiser Shaun O’Hagan describes it as “a day for everybody’s children.”
Anyone wishing to volunteer can contact the team via the Facebook Event Page. If you want to donate to Aiming Higher, visit their shop at 105 Central Drive or visit their website.
