Lovers of all things artistic won’t be disappointed with selection of local artists selling their wares including Robin Ross, Linzi Cason, Tangerine Art and Memoriesforyou.
For the fashionistas, North Pier will be transformed into a catwalk for a fashion show from throughout the decades, celebrating the best of style and glamour from then until now. No look will be neglected, with everything from Vivian Westwood to 1860s fashions – truly something for everyone.
Jade Slusarczyk, winner of Miss Poulton, will be dressing the models and taking to the runway herself; while Blackpool’s famous Urban Dance Project will be providing the musical backdrop and choreographing the show.
While the parents are shopping there are workshops on hand to keep the kids entertained. Yappers Chappers will be using papier mache to create crafty North Pier themed sculptures, while local urban artist Infected by Design will be creating custom designs on vinyl records – with a competition and prizes for the best designs.
Throughout the day shoppers will be treated to live music from a host of bands and performers. Locals Cartoon Food will bring an element of musical frivolity with their acoustic loveliness for the terminally eclectic and romantically insane. Violin virtuosso Ella Ronson and guitar genius Charlie Galloway will also be amongst those taking to the stage to perform their acoustic stylings on the day.
For those wanting to enjoy a relaxing drink during the afternoon, head to the North Pier’s special Champagne and Pimms bar in the sun lounge – plus take advantage of the fantastic selection of drinks offers.
You’re invited to join the stallholders, performers and models in dressing to impress in whatever style, fashion or era you prefer – whether it’s Steam Punk, vintage, retro or modern – celebrating 150 years of Blackpool’s North Pier.
