Dr Who month with Blackpool Libraries

Dr Who Group

Blackpool Library Service is very excited to be teaming up with artist Sean Payne and Blackpool Illuminations to bring you a month-long range of activities to celebrate all things Who.

There will be a wide range of Dr Who books available from your local library as well as many activities in which you can participate.

 

 

 

Events:
Thu 7 Nov  9.30-12.30pm Dr Who Jigsaw Club – Brunswick Room, Central Library. Free. No booking required.

Sat 9 Nov 10.30-12pm – Dr Who Monster Drawing Workshop, Junior Section, Central Library with  Sean Payne. For under 13’s. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Free. Limited places so booking essential.

Sat 16 Nov – 1-3pm March of the Daleks – Stop Animation Workshop – with Sean Payne, Brunswick Room, Central Library. Any age but children must be accompanied by an adult.  Free. Limited places so booking essential.

Fri 22nd Nov – 7-8.30pm, Central Library. As the excitement builds in anticipation of the BBC’s Dr Who day on 23 November, we will be bringing you our own Dr Who Evening with two very knowledgable individuals who will be giving a talk: Ian Taylor – Dr Who ‘Fandom’ and Sean Payne – Dr Who Heritage in Blackpool.  Aimed at adults and older teens, any under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Free but booking essential.

Activities:

You can get involved in a variety of other ways too:

We have a selection of  activity craft sheets which you can pick up from your local library to make a range of characters from a Weeping Angel to a Zygon. Return your finished character to be displayed in your library.

Take part in our Dr Who quiz and enter the draw to win a range of exciting prizes. Available in your local library.

Local artist Sean Payne will have a selection of his Dr Who related artwork on display at Central, Moor Park and Layton libraries.

Blackpool  Illuminations have kindly lent us a Tardis which will be displayed  above the front door at Central Library during  November.
