Open Submissions at Supercollider

As many of you out there know, Supercollider has been programming the cream of contemporary art for some time now. The waiting list for artists to exhibit work in Supercollider is as long as a five year old’s Christmas list to Santa, so the news that Supercollider is holding an open show will be welcomed by many! ‘The weather outside is frightful’ is the name of the show and Supercollider is opening its doors to locally-based artists. Only those over the age of eighteen and living/working/studying in the Blackpool and Fylde area are eligible (but if you’re on the edges of Blackpool a little wiggle room is offered).

Supercollider are looking to showcase the contemporary arts practice of the ever growing Blackpool arts community. So dust off your brushes and chisels etc. and get involved in what shall be a festive (in its loosest sense) exploration of locally based art. Supercollider is seeking applications from locally-based artists to submit up to two pieces of work, at the very reasonable fee of five pounds per item.ย  As Supercollider is a non-profit organisation, all monies will be fed straight back into the show and the running of its Cookson Street gallery space.

The deadline for applications is Friday November 29. The show will run from December 5 until January 11, with a private view event on December 5.ย  This will feature the usual mix of wine and heady conversation and the private view will be a great way to start your winter arts season.
