Crazy For You at The Grand Theatre Preview.

Crazy For You

On 23rd – 26th April, The Grand Theatre, Blackpool is launching Crazy For You, which is the latest production by Blackpool Operatic Players.

The musical is set in 1930s Deadrock, Nevada and New York City. It is a romantic comedy musical based around the best-loved songs and music by George and Ira Gershwin. You can expect to hear well-loved classics such as “Someone to Watch Over Me”, “They Can’t Take That Away From Me” and “I Got Rhythm.”

The main character, Bobby Child, is the son of a rich banking family, whose mother sends him to Nevada to foreclose on a rundown theatre. On his arrival, he soon falls in love with Polly whose father happens to own the Gaiety Theatre, the very theatre Bobby was sent to shut down. If he goes ahead Bobby could lose the girl of his dreams.

To try and help the theatre, Bobby puts on a show, calling in The Zangler Follies Girls from New York to enrich the sleepy town of Deadrock, transforming it into an all singing and all dancing spectical fit for Broadway.

Blackpool Operatic Players Karl Hugo and Hayley Mallinson are the stars of the show. As the viewer, you can expect a high energy display of musical genius, tap dancing, and sing-along musical favourites designed to delight all audiences.
The play is presented under the direction of producer and choreographer Steve Chesters.

Crazy For You runs from Wednesday 23 to Saturday 26 April 2014. To book tickets call the box office on 01253 74 33 39 or visit blackpoolgrand.co.uk. You can also like the Grand Theatre on Facebook or follow them on Twitter @blackpoolgrand.
